    Getting Started

This procedure will assist you with installing the Sinkology Quick-Fit Drop-In Farmhouse Fireclay Sink.

    • Quick-Fit Retrofit Drop-In
    • The Josephine and Parker come from our Elevate Collection of sinks that feature Quick-Fit installation.
    • This retrofit installation method means you can easily install with minimal modifications made to kitchen cabinets and countertops.
    • Due to the manufacturing process, each fireclay sink will vary slightly dimensionally. We recommend using the actual sink to be installed, not templates, to ensure an exact fit.

    What You’ll Need

Carpenter Square, a Tape Measure, a Saw fitted with a Carbide or Diamond Blade, a Screwdriver, Plumber Putty, Silicone, Painter Tape, a Pencil, a Water Soluble Marker, a Utility Knife, and Safety Glasses.

Additional tools might be needed depending on your application. You may also need either a Pull-Saw, Rotary Tool, or Oscillating Tool.

    Instructions

    1. Turn off the water, disconnect the plumbing connections, and remove the faucet.
    2. Cut the sealant around the existing sink and remove the old sink.
    3. Measure the Sink from front to back. This measurement will be used to cut out the countertop. Important: Ensure that 1 inch of the Back Deck of the Sink is supported by your countertop.
    4. Measure the bowl at the back of the sink, just underside of the faucet deck. This measurement will be used to cut out the countertop. Important: You must add 1/4 inch to the X measurement to allow the Sink to slide into the countertop.
    5. Place Painter Tape along the edges where the sink will go. The tape will help provide a clean cut in later steps.
    6. Mark cut lines on the countertop at approximately (X + 1/4 inch) centered for the sink width. Mark a cut line at approximately (Y) from the front edge. Important: Ensure that 1 inch of the Back Deck of the Sink is supported by your countertop.
    7. Mark cut lines on the countertop eight-tenths of an inch on either side of the previous cut lines and flush to the cabinet face. The depth of this mark depends on the distance your countertop hangs over the cabinets; the apron of the sink should slide in nicely. Note: Ensure all corners are cut square at a 90-degree angle.
    8. Remove the false panel over the sink cabinets.
    9. Cut the countertop along the first cut lines using a saw with an appropriate blade. Note: You may need to cut a portion of the countertop by hand using a pull-saw, rotary tool, or oscillating tool.
    10. Cut the countertop along the back cut lines.
    11. Remove the cut piece of countertop.
    12. Cut the countertop along the lines for the notches.
    13. Cut along the back lines for the notches.
    14. Remove the notch pieces.
    15. Measure the area the Sink will cover on the cabinet face frame and draw cut lines on the cabinet. The length and depth of this measurement depend on your cabinet style and the width of your cabinet base.
    16. Cut the face on one of the two cut lines depending on your cabinet so that the apron slides in flush with the countertop notches.
    17. Remove the cut face piece of the cabinet.
    18. Dry fit the Sinkology Josephine Kitchen Sink into the opening. Adjust any of the cut-outs if needed.
    19. Remove the Sink and place a thick bead of 100% Silicone around the top of the countertop.
    20. Replace the Sink and seal the gaps with white or clear 100% Silicone for a professional look.
    21. Reconnect the plumbing and install your desired faucet.

Congratulations, this completes the installation of the Sinkology Quick-Fit Drop-In Fireclay Farmhouse Sink.
