    Effortless Installation with BILT®
Undermount sink installation instructions are available on the BILT® App. Download the BILT App and search “Sinkology” to find interactive instructions specifically for your product and installation type. It’s so simple, it feels like cheating!

    Getting Started

This procedure will assist you with installing the Sinkology Bath Undermount Sink.

    • Undermount
    • Sinkology undermount bathroom sinks do not include mounting hardware. We recommend providing your sink details to your countertop manufacturer for approved mounting hardware and method.
    • Sinks should not be undermounted to wood-based countertops.

    What You’ll Need

Carpenter Square, a Level, a Jigsaw fitted with a Carbide or Diamond Blade, a Power Drill, a 1 1/2″ (or larger) Hole Saw, a Tape Measure, a Rubber Mallet, Plumbers Putty, 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant, Expanding Foam, Painters Tape, a Water-Soluble Marker, a Carpenter Pencil, Craft Paper (larger than the Sink), a Utility Knife, Scissors, and Safety Glasses and Gloves.

Depending on your type of countertop, you may also need either a Pull-Saw, a Router with a 45-degree Bevel Bit, a Rotary Tool with a Grinding Bit, or an Oscillating Tool.

    Instructions

    1. Turn off the water supply, then disconnect the plumbing connections.
    2. Remove the old fixtures.
    3. Since your new Sink was built by hand, its shape may have minor variations. To ensure the best fit and finish, the opening in the countertop must be cut to match with great accuracy. Please read and follow these directions before cutting the countertop.
    4. Place the new Sink upside down onto the Paper, and tape the edge of the Sink to it.
    5. Turn over the Sink and Paper, and rub the Pencil across and along the upper edges of the Sink. When you are satisfied that they have been accurately traced, remove the Paper. Note: A Template which has been cut along the inner line will create a hole flush with the edge of the Sink’s basin. If you wish to offset the lip of the countertop from the Sink, you will need to draw another cut line on your Template accordingly.
    6. Cut out the center of the Template along the inner line (or cut line, if desired). Note: Trim the Template slowly, often checking that it matches the shape of the Sink.
    7. If you have trouble with the first Template, do not hesitate to make another. Note: Painter’s Tape can help prevent chipping on most countertop materials. If you plan to use a Wet Saw to cut your countertop, you should omit the Tape and mark the countertop directly with a suitable Marker.
    8. Find and mark the centerline of where the Sink will be installed. Note: The center will often be where the cabinet doors meet, but your cabinetry may vary.
    9. Measure the width of the Sink side to side. On the countertop, measure and mark exactly half that distance on both sides from the center.
    10. Using a Square and a Pencil, draw lines through all three marks, perpendicular to the front of the countertop.
    11. Apply Painter’s Tape to the countertop just inside the outer lines.
    12. Mock up any plumbing connections and faucet placement to ensure necessary clearances.
    13. Measure the exact distance the rear of the Sink should sit from the back edge of the countertop, mark it on all three lines, and apply a line of Painter’s Tape to the countertop just in front of the three marks.
    14. Measure the length of the Sink front to back. On the countertop, measure and mark that distance forward from the rear line.
    15. Apply Painter’s Tape to the countertop just behind the front line.
    16. Center your Template to the lines on the countertop.
    17. If any countertop shows below the edge of the template, apply additional Tape to the countertop to cover them, then recenter the Template.
    18. Trace the edge of the Template onto the countertop. Note: As you are cutting the countertop, remember to remove less material at first, then make adjustments to trim it to its finished shape. Ruining a countertop by cutting too far is impossible to fix and expensive to replace.
    19. Use a Hole Saw to cut a starting hole near the inside edge of the traced cut line.
    20. Cut the installation hole in the countertop along the traced cut line. Note: Depending on your type of countertop, you may wish to finish the cut edge by sanding, beveling, and/or polishing.
    21. Temporarily position the Sink to double-check that it fits properly. If necessary, make adjustments to the hole.
    22. Apply 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant around the edge of the Sink.
    23. Mount the Sink under the countertop using mounting hardware which has been approved for your countertop type.
    24. Create a smooth seal around the Sink’s upper rim using 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant. Note: Allow the Sealant time to cure properly before using the Sink.
    25. Install the faucet and reconnect the plumbing.
    26. Turn on the water supply, check for leaks, and repair if needed.

Congratulations, this completes the installation of the Sinkology Undermount Sink.
