The Christmas season is usually a very busy time of year. Calendars are filled to the brim with traveling to visit with family, celebrating at office holiday parties, attending kids’ Christmas plays, and shopping for all of the gifts for loved ones. Often, wrapping gifts is done last minute and with very little forethought. Perhaps, this year could be a little different. Maybe, with just a tad bit of extra effort, gift wrapping could go from quick and easy, to polished and thoughtful. And, since I love to use non-traditional Christmas colors and unique touches in my holiday decor, why should it be any different with gift wrapping?
If you don’t want to, there is no need to use bright, often flashy, expensive wrapping paper. There are alternatives!
Here are a few simple ways to step outside the typical gift wrapping box (no pun intended) and make your gift wrapping special. Using these items will give you a variety of different looking options and possibly save you a little bit of money. I was able to find everything I needed at a local craft store.
Here is what you’ll need to get started on your gift wrapping endeavors:
String and/or twine: Try steering away from the traditional Christmas ribbon and bows.
Copper Ink Pad and Holiday Stamps: Pick out a few of your favorite holiday stamps and a beautiful ink pad color.
Sharpie: Forget the black Sharpie and find a copper one!
Gift Tag: The options are endless.
A little greenery: Find a garland and take a few pieces off to put on top of the packages.
